Cross-Country Skiing

Cross-country skiing in Santa Caterina Valfurva is a unique and unforgettable experience.
The “Valtellina” track has been hosting the most important national and international competitions for years and thanks to its location and altitude it shows unique characteristics. The track is constantly and perfectly covered with snow from mid November to May thanks to an efficient artificial snow system.
 
The many ups and downs, the innovative technical solutions introduced by Benito Moriconi (the coach of the Italian cross-country ski team) and a constant and accurate maintenance of the track make of it one of the most well known cross-country areas of the valley. The track is divided into a racing (5 and 7.5 km) and a tourist one (1,5/2/3/5 and 8 km) and winds through forests of pine.
 
La Fonte centre offers changing rooms, showers, equipment storage, waxing room and the technical assistance of the ski instructors who are ready to give advice on equipment and waxing.
